Introduction to the Prof. Tao Shu

Professor Tao Shu, the principal investigator of the research group, is Vice President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and President Chair Professor of Finance. His main research areas include corporate finance, fintech and innovation. His work has been published in top international journals such as the Journal of Finance.

Position Opening

Research Assistant

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist with research tasks, including literature review, data collection, and data processing;

2. Be responsible for scraping, cleaning, and structuring financial data;

3. Use Python for data analysis and modeling, and participate in machine learning/deep learning-related research;

4. Train, call, and optimize large model APIs, and explore their applications in financial research scenarios;

5. Assist with the organization of the research group’s academic activities.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in finance, economics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field;

2. Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB, or similar tools; experience in web scraping is preferred;

3. Familiarity with calling and using large model APIs, and understanding of basic model fine-tuning methods;

4. Strong quantitative background, excellent English skills, careful and diligent work style, and good teamwork and communication skills;

5. Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts and theories in finance;

6. Preferred qualifications: applicants who intend to pursue a PhD in economics or finance; familiarity with Stata or SAS; foundation in machine learning/deep learning; experience in financial text analysis/NLP projects; prior research experience.

背景要求

1. 金融学、经济学、统计学、计算机科学、数据科学或相关专业本科及以上学历；

3. 熟悉大模型API调用与使用，了解模型微调基本方法；

4. 具备良好数理基础、英语能力优秀、工作踏实细致、有良好的团队合作精神和沟通能力；

5. 对金融学基本概念和理论有了解；

6. 优先考虑：致力于申请经济金融学博士项目，熟悉Stata/SAS、有机器学习/深度学习基础、有金融文本分析/NLP项目经验、有科研经历者。
