Problem and Project-based Learning in Climate Change Education through E-learning Platform

This project aims to build an e-learning platform designed to facilitate problem- and project-based learning (PPBL) in climate change education (CCE). The platform intends to enhance students' understanding of complex climate issues, promote their engagement in addressing real-world climate problems, and foster the development of sustainable solutions.

The proposed e-learning platform offers an innovative approach to CCE. It incorporates three interconnected modules: Learning, Interaction, and Assessment. The Learning Module provides comprehensive and convenient learning materials, including webinars, digital exhibitions, databases, and a resource library, to deepen learners’ knowledge of climate change. The Interaction Module facilitates experiential PPBL through virtual field trips, games, discussion forums, and an international climate studio, promoting collaborative and peer-to-peer learning. The Assessment Module evaluates the effectiveness of PPBL through project analysis, a carbon tracker, a low-carbon competition, and progress tracking.

By employing PPBL approaches, this project has the potential to nurture a generation of climate-conscious individuals preparing to address the pressing challenges of the future. It can serve as a valuable resource for professionals, policymakers, and community leaders. The e-learning platform will also potentially benefit other countries, particularly those in the Global South, and contribute to educational equality and access to CCE.
