About ASE Foundation
—
ASE Foundation is a China-based non-profit organization with a global perspective, dedicated to supporting and advancing the dissemination, education, development, and scholarly research of contemporary art in China. The Foundation operates through four core functions: Art Collection, the ASE Art Library, ASE Space, and Art Sponsorship Projects. Its flagship initiative, the ASE Co-Research Project, focuses on supporting emerging artists and curators by fostering the academic articulation of their practices and providing sustained research-based support. Through a range of public programs and educational activities, the Foundation situates its work within broader cultural and social contexts, emphasizing experimentation, local engagement, and public accessibility. In doing so, ASE Foundation seeks to expand the role and boundaries of art institutions within public life, contributing to a more diverse and dynamic cultural ecosystem.
Established in 2021, ASE Foundation has organized the following events since the launch of ASE Space and the ASE Art Library in 2022: 8 exhibitions, 21 book club meetings, 14 art lectures, 35 recommended reading lists, 111 “100 Art Books” book video releases, nearly 10000 registered members at the art library, over 30000 total reservations to visit the library.
