Notice of application for Guangdong special fund on Guangdong-Hong Kong joint research program 2023
The Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong province has initiated the program application for Guangdong-Hong Kong joint research program 2023.?Details of application requirements are as follows:

1.Funding fields
Supporting joint R&D project and industrialization cooperation in the fields of new generation of information technology, semiconductor and integrated circuit, artificial intelligence, blockchain and fintech, biomedicine and health, new materials, new energy, intelligent robots and high-end equipment manufacturing, etc.

2.Funding amount and duration
The duration is two years and the funding intensity is 1 million yuan per project.

3.Procedure of application
Applicants shall fill out application forms and upload needful supplementary documents(please refer Annex 2-list of attachments) online via the application system ( http://pro.gdstc.gd.gov.cn/egrantweb ?), without having to submit any hard copies.

4. Other requirements
A. Hong Kong cooperators shall be selected from those institutions listed in Annex 3.
B. Applicants and Hong Kong cooperators shall apply for this project to the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong province and Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission respectively. Unilateral application shall be invalid.????
C. The self-raised funds shall be provided by enterprises(as participants) . For participants of Guangdong enterprises, the self-raised funds provided shall not less than half of the total funds.
D. Application limit
? ?The total number of provincial technology projects a researcher undertakes as PI shall not exceed three; more than one (including one) provincial special fund on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation or research projects on international cooperation that have not completed;
?? Applicants shall only submit no more than two applications for provincial research projects in the same year;
?? For conclusion of provincial technology projects which exist the situation of one year overdue, the applicant shall not apply for this program;
?? The same project will not be funded twice.
E. Both application form and proposal shall be written in Chinese;
F. Any requirements of relevant scientific research reviews, please refer to the CUHK(SZ)’s research review process of each committee as attached (Annex 4) and send the required materials and forms to each committee’s email for assessment by Dec. 28, 2022.

5. Deadline
a. Applicants shall upload relevant attachments and submit application forms online by 12:00 on Jan. 10, 2023, the RAO will review and feedback;
b. Applicants shall submit application forms (final version) online by 17:00 on Jan. 12, 2023, without submitting any hard copies.
