Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission has initiated the application for Guangdong Engineering Research Center 2024. Details of application requirements are as follows:

1. Supporting Fields

Align with the scope defined in the "Guidelines for Key Products and Services of Strategic Emerging Industries" (Annex 1), with priority support given to areas such as next-generation information technology, artificial intelligence, new energy, new materials, novel energy storage, biopharmaceuticals, biomanufacturing, low-altitude economy, and commercial space industries.

2. Duration & Funding

No more than 3 years. No financial support.

3. Application Requirements

3.1 Prepare the construction implementation plan, outlining clear and viable development strategies, construction goals, key tasks for industrial technology research, development and engineering, along with standardized management and operational protocols.

3.2 Possess significant influence within the relevant industry, with a total number of R&D personnel not less than 50, of which full-time R&D personnel should not be less than 30.

3.3 The original value of R&D equipment should not be less than 20 million yuan.

3.4 The R&D premises should not be less than 2000m².

3.5 Have led (undertaken) provincial-level or above scientific research plans or participated in the formulation of industry standards.

4. Procedure of Application

4.1 Collect Application Intention

Feedback the application intention form (Annex 2) by 15:00 on December 18, 2024 to luoyan@cuhk.edu.cn. RAO will organize the intramural selection according to the feedback, and the notification will be issued separately.

4.2 Formal Application

4.2.1 In accordance with the requirements of the engineering research center (Annex 3), prepare the application report (Annex 4), application data form (Annex 5), summary form (Annex 6), the commitment letter (Annex 7) and relevant supporting documents.

4.2.2 Electronic and paper version materials (3 hard copies) should be submitted to RAO by 17:00 on December 27, 2024.

5. Notes

5.1 Only one application can be declared by CUHK-Shenzhen.

5.2 Funding must be self-generated.

5.3 Joint applications with advantaged enterprises and research institutions in related fields to establish engineering centers are encouraged.

5.4 The engineering research center is uniformly named as Guangdong Engineering Research Center of XXX.

5.5 Relevant supporting materials are required.
